Veg out or get out?

After a fun and busy 4th, I’m extremely glad to have the next four days off of work. Normally, I would spend my days lounging around watching movies, maybe moseying on down to the beach, but since I have a friend visiting, I am actually forced to spend my time off wisely. My good friend, Jessica, is in town from Texas and we have a packed schedule of sight-seeing and fun “L.A.” activities for the next four days… which really made me realize I don’t take full advantage of my days off!

I have a whole list of things I’ve been wanting to do since the year I’ve lived in Los Angeles, and yet I never seem to do them… but the minute I have a friend in town I feel like I have to do all these awesome activities and go to interesting places to make her stay here exciting. So since my one year anniversary of living in L.A. is three weeks away, I made a decision to fully maximize all of my time and check as many things off my L.A. to do list as possible. I shouldn’t have to wait until I have a friend in town to have a busy and exciting weekend!

Don’t get me wrong, I will still have many a lazy Saturday, but I think it’s important to use my free time for me! Just because I’m not working doesn’t mean I can’t be productive… So if anyone else has lazy tendencies like I do, make yourself a list of activities you want to do and places you want to go. So the next time you have a day off and you are tempted to reach for the remote, grab that list and cross something off it, you will probably have a lot more fun than you would have vegging out on your couch.
