This week’s question is: What advice would you give to someone who wanted to start their own interior design business? What is the best way to get your name out there, start building your design reputation and build your clientèle?
Jen responds: Network like crazy in your community! Take on a couple of projects for free to help you get some real experience and have a chance to photograph your work, not to mention get some great client endorsements. Get some beautifully designed cards. Throw up a website with your best photos and your philosophy. Getting started is never easy, but one job leads to two, two to four, four to eight, and so on!
